DORTMUND SECURE FIRST-LEG ADVANTAGE AS PSG FAIL TO MAKE THEIR MARK
Niclas Fullkrug netted a superb winner as Borussia Dortmund secured a narrow 1-0 first-leg advantage at home to Paris Saint-Germain to leave their UEFA Champions League semi-final finely poised.
The Germany international took a magnificent first touch before rifling past Gianluigi Donnarumma on 36 minutes to give the hosts a deserved interval lead.
Kylian Mbappe had cut a peripheral figure in the visiting attack, but that all changed in the second period when the 25-year-old struck the far post with a sublime curler before Achraf Hakimi crashed against the other upright seconds later.
Fullkrug then blazed a volley from the impressive Jadon Sancho’s cross over the top while Ousmane Dembele somehow fizzed over late on as both sides went close in a thrilling end-to-end finale.
The two teams will now reconvene for the second leg in the French capital on Tuesday with the winner meeting Real Madrid or Bayern Munich in the final at Wembley on June 1.
TNT SPORTS EXPERTS REACT TO DORTMUND'S INCREDIBLE DISPLAY
Rio Ferdinand: "Terzic deserves huge plaudits. The way his team played in front of that huge atmosphere. We talked about that being key for the Dortmund team. To a man it was a perfect performance. Defensively... in transition.... defending the superstar Mbappe as a collective... they defended their 1 v 1 duels all over the park...
"The two wide players... Sancho ,especially attacking wise was superb. Adeyemi for both sides of the game. The No.9 played No.9 performance. It was a touch perfect performance across the board.
Owen Hargreaves: "Really, really, really good. I don't think they could have played much better."
He added: "Jadon's was outrageous. It just shows you the talent he has."

VIDEO: DID YOU THINK THIS WAS A PENALTY?
At first look in real-time it looked live a shove. Replays make it look less obvious... Hmmm...
